For the family visa, we have following services:

M0. Marry with Chinese (get marriage license in China), want to get 1 year Residence Permit

Paperwork list of China family visa, spouse visa, dependant visa services

M0 Service: Marry with Chinese (get marriage license in China), want to get 1 year Residence Permit:

1. Passport with valid visa
2. Local Shanghai Registration Form Of Temporary Residence (up to date)* [ Sample ]
3. 2 Passport Photographs (size 4.5cm*3.5cm)
4. Chinese person's ID card
5. Chinese person's Residence booklet (Hu Kou booklet)
6. Local Chinese marriage certificate (if your marriage license was issued outside of China, then you must goto Chinese Embassy/Consulate in your home country to notarize and translate it)

Notice 1: If the Chinese person is not shanghaiese (his/her residence booklet is not from shanghai), then Chinese person need to provide following 2 extra documents:
7. Chinese person's shanghai residence permit [ Sample ]
8. Chinese person should work OR own a house in shanghai (Employment statement OR property ownership certificate)

Notice 2: If applicant hold a valid L or F visa now, then a health certificate is necessary (Appointment Tel: 021-62688851 or Book online here).
If applicant hold a valid working Z visa now, then the company release letter with official company stamp is necessary.

Normal Service takes: 6 Working Days
Service Cost: 800RMB/person (service fee)+ government fee (pay according to government receipt)

Friendly Notice:
According to the local shanghai immigration policy, For the first time when you apply the Residence permit , you have to show up (the second time no need to show up) in the government to take a digital picture, they need to confirm you are the same person of the passport holder then the officer will accept your visa application.

M1 Service: Marry with Chinese (get marriage license outside China), want to get 6 month 1 entry L visa:

1. Passport with valid (L), (X) or (Z) visa
2. Local Shanghai Registration Form Of Temporary Residence (up to date)* [ Sample ]
3. 2 Passport Photographs (size 4.5cm*3.5cm)
4. Chinese person's ID card [ Sample ]
5. Chinese person's Residence booklet (Hu Kou booklet) [ Sample ]
6. Marriage certificate from outside of China (if your marriage license was notarized by the Chinese Embassy/Consulate in your home country, then you can use our M0 service to get 1 year family visa)

M2 Service: You have China working Z Visa now, sponsor your family (parents, wife, kids) get Family Visa (same length of your visa):

1. Copy of the Marriage Certificate of your wife (partner living together without marriage certificate please check our M3 service next)
2. Your Passport and working Residence Permit copy
3. Copy of Birth Certificate of your child
4. If you sponsor your father/mother, you need to provide your birth certificate to prove the relationship
5. Your family member's passport with valid visa
6. Local Shanghai Registration Form Of Temporary Residence (up to date)* [ Sample ]
7. Health Certificate for your wife, father or mother (Appointment Tel: 021-62688851 or Book online here, father or mother over 70 years old is not necessary to get the health certificate)
8. 2 Passport Photographs of each family member(size 4.5cm*3.5cm)
9. Copy of the company Business License [ Sample ]
10. Copy of the company Enterprise Code License [ Sample ]
11. Company letter to apply the family visa- with official stamp [ Sample ]
12. Company assignment letter with official stamp to assign VisaInChina as a visa agent for you application [ Sample ] (Print out and stamp it directly, don't modify)

Notice: If applicant hold a valid working Z visa now, then a company release letter to prove he/she has already quit with official company stamp is necessary. But health certificate is not necessary.
Notice: If applicant hold a valid student X visa now, then the school release letter to prove he/she has already quit with official school stamp is necessary (or you can offer your graduated certificate copy). But health certificate is not necessary.

M3 Service: You have China working Z Visa now, sponsor your living partner (not married) get Family Visa (same length of your visa):

1. A letter from the Consulate in shanghai to certificate that you living together as partner, equal to marriage. (if you need, we can send you a sample for your reference)
2. Your Passport and working Residence Permit copy
3. Your partner's passport with valid visa
4. Local Shanghai Registration Form Of Temporary Residence (up to date)* [ Sample ]
5. Health Certificate for your partner (Appointment Tel: 021-62688851 or Book online here)
6. 2 Passport Photographs of your partner (size 4.5cm*3.5cm)
7. Copy of the company Business License [ Sample ]

*** M4 service is only for the parents who don't have a residence permit here in Shanghai, If either father or mother has a working residence permit, then we suggest above M2 service.
*** If one of baby's parents is Chinese nationality, then M4 service is the only choise for baby.

Notice: New born baby need to apply the visa within 1 month after he/she born, if you are over the 1 month deadline, it will cause 500-1000RMB for the penalty.

M5 Service: Visit your directly relatives who have a work visa in shanghai, want to get 6 month 1 entry L visa:

1. Passport with valid (L), (X) or (Z) visa
2. Local Shanghai Registration Form Of Temporary Residence (up to date)* [ Sample ]
3. 2 Passport Photographs (size 4.5cm*3.5cm)
4. Directly relatives' passport with residence permit issued at shanghai
5. Certificate to prove your relationship (birth certificate, marriage license etc.)
6. Copy of your relative's company Business License [ Sample ]
7. Copy of your relative's company Enterprise Code License [ Sample ]
8. Company letter to apply the family visa- with official stamp [ Sample ]
9. Company assignment letter with official stamp to assign VisaInChina as a visa agent for you application [ Sample ] (Print out and stamp it directly, don't modify)

*** If applicant hold a valid working Z visa now, then a company release letter to prove you have already quit with official company stamp is necessary

Notice: Visit father, mother, husband or wife who is working in shanghai can apply 6 month L visa extension. Visit brother or sister who is working in shanghai can apply 3 month L visa extension.

When you come to Shanghai with a valid visa, you have to go to the local police station near your living space (if you are living in hotel, just go to the hotel reception, But don't forget to ask the hotel put their stamp on the form! ) to register your information in detail within 24 hrs.It's easy and free. Then you can get this Registration Form. If you don't know where is the correct police station you have to go, Please give us a call, we will help you to find it out for free. (As the policy of Shanghai immigration bureau, we strongly recommend you to register and get this form. and also for the foreigner who live in Shanghai, please notice when you leave China and come back or move to a new living place or change a new passport, you have to renew this form)
Tips: If you register yourself too late, maybe the police will charge you fine. Please notice as the regulation, the fine is from minimum 50RMB upto maximum 500RMB. You can negotiate about it to reach a lower amount.
