22nd Nov 2024 - News from the China MFA (Ministry of Foreign Affairs):

To further promote people-to-people exchanges with other countries, China has decided to expand the scope of visa-free countries. During the period from 30th Nov, 2024 to 31st Dec, 2025, holders of ordinary passports from Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Malta, Estonia, Latvia, Japan can enter China for business, tourism, exchange visits, visiting relatives and friends or transit without a visa. .

In addition, China has decided to optimize its entry policy simultaneously, including exchange visits as the reason for visa-free stay, and extend the visa-free stay period from the current 15 days to 30 days.
