About applying China visas, summarized as follows:

  • Tourist visa and Medical treatment visa are still not available to apply.
  • Except above 2 kind of visas, all the other visas (for example, Business M visa, Work Z visa, Family S/Q visas, Student X visa etc.) are all available to apply. And requirements are the same as before the pandemic.
  • The application for journalist - J visa shall be subject to the requirements of the competent department.
  • Multi-entries visa is available to apply again (for example, the multi-entries business M visa), you might need to provide the invitation letter with multi-entries request and previous China business visas as supplement. And the Chinese Consulate has the finial decision of approval.

About visa free and 72/144 hrs transit visa, summarized as follows:

Visa Free (available again):
For those countries who has the visa abolition agreement with China.
But following situations of the visa free are still suspended:

  • Japan, Singapore, Brunei can not use visa free to enter China (because those 3 countries' visa free benefit was given by China unilaterally before).
  • Hainan island visa free.
  • Shanghai cruise visa free.
  • Foreigners from HK and Macau 144 hrs group visa free to GuangDong province.
  • ASEAN tourist group visa free to GuangXi province.

A: You can call the city's area code + China immigration hotline 12367. (Take Shanghai as an example, you can dial 021-12367 to get in touch with the customs officer)

How can I know if my current visa is still available to enter China or not?summarized as follows:

  • All the residence permit issued from inside China's mainland (for example, the permanent residence permit, the working residence permit etc.), you can use it to enter China before it's valid date.
  • All the visa issued from outside of China (including HK and Macau), and issued BEFORE 26th March 2020 (Mostly we known is the 10 years multi-entries Q2-family visa or L-travel visa), It's still not available to use, you do need to apply a new China visa to enter China.
  • Valid APEC card can enter China directly. (not including the APEC virtual card)

What do I need to do before I fly to China?
A: The only thing you need to do is: Within 48 hours before your flight, you need to do a covid-19 nucleic acid testing, make sure it's negative result. and then you need to login the China Custom health declaration website to declare your health situation. (website: https://htdecl.chinaport.gov.cn/)

After I enter China, Do I need to do a quarantine?
A: No need.
