• Visa on arrival (Port visa)

Important notice:
144 hours Transit visa regulation does not apply to passengers who travel on a single return flight (e.g., UK – Shanghai - UK), which means the destination and place of departure cannot be the same. For example:

USA - Shanghai – Taiwan, Available
USA - Shanghai – USA, NOT available
USA - Singapore - Shanghai – USA, Available

China visa on arrival (Port visa)

Purpose: Business cooperation, visits and exchanges, investment and entrepreneurship, visiting relatives and handling private affairs, etc., or for humanitarian reasons such as attending funerals or visiting critically ill patients, and are unable to obtain a visa from Chinese Embassies or Consulates abroad in time.

Major scenarios:
Sample1: Citizen from UK would like to take care of a relative in Shenzhen who will take operation in few days. (has no time to apply China visa in UK)

Sample 2: Client from Vietnam would like to attend China International Import Expo (CIIE) after 1 week in shanghai. (has no time to apply China visa in Vietnam)

Important notice:
It’s an extra “way” or “methods” to solve out emergency situations, if it’s not an emergency, VisaInChina don't suggest you use the port visa way.

Processing time:
1-3 working days (the inviting party in China needs to apply a <port visa notification> from entry/exit bureau in advance, with that <port visa notification>, then foreigner can apply the port visa after landing China.)
